The men's tennis team won its third straight match - and second in two days - with a 4-3 win at Hobart College.
Rochester, ranked sixth regionally and 23rd nationally, improved to 3-4 overall. Hobart, which is ranked 15th regionally, lost for only the second time this season.
Dan Williford and Eric Prince were double winners for the Yellowjackets. Williford, ranked #18 regionally, defeated Trevor McAndrew, 6-4, 6-1, in second singles. He paired with Colin Ryan to defeat McAndrew and peter Pine, 8-2 at #1 singles. The Hobart duo is ranked #9 regionally.
The second doubles team of Avinash Reddy and Partha Bhattacharya won, 8-3 while #3 doubles of Brian Shenker and Eric Prince won, 8-1.
Prince won 7-6 (7-2), 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 at #5 singles. Michael Lee secured Rochester's final singles point, winning 76 (7-6), 6-1 at #6 singles.
Reddy lost in three (6-2, 3-6, 3-6) at #1 singles, Bhattacharya lost, 6-7 (3-7), 3-6 at #3 singles, and Josh Bruce-Black lost, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (1-7) at #4 singles.
Rochester hosts Niagara on Saturday and RIT on Sunday, giving the Yellowjackets four matches in four calendar days.
