The men's tennis team lost at Division I Binghamton University, 6-1, on Friday afternoon.
Eric Prince claimed Rochester's sole victory. He won, 7-6 (4), 6-1 at #4 singles. The Bearcats won all three doubels matches to secure the doubles point, then took five of the six singles matches.
Three of the six singles matches went to a tiebreaker in the first set. At #2 singles, Partha Bhattacharya lost, 7-6 (4), 6-2. At #5 singles, Mike Lee was beaten, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Dan Williford lost at #1 singles, Avinash Reddy at #3, and Brian Shenker at #6.
Binghamton was an NCAA Division I playoff participant last year in men's tennis. The Bearcats are 11-7 and have won six of their last seven.
Rochester is 9-9 with three matches vs. Division I opposition this spring (1-2).
