After reeling off five consecutive wins, the men's tennis team has hit a bit of a snag. Over the weekend, the Yellowjackets lost, 7-0, to second-ranked Middlebury College on Saturday. The next day, Rochester lost to 19th-ranked Bates College at Middlebury.

The team left for the west coast following the Bates match. On Tuesday, Rochester was upended by UAA rival NYU, 4-3. The Yellowjackets stand at 5-3 with their next two matches coming against Chapman College and California Lutherna, both ranked in the Top 25.

Aaron Gettinger was Rochester's individual winner vs. Bates. He won, 7-5, 6-4, at #5 singles. Josh Bruce-Black took his opponent to three sets (losing the third set, 7-6, on the tiebreaker). Thanos Kantarelis lost, 7-5, 7-5, at #2 singles. Five of the six singles events had at least one set go to a seventh point to get a decision.

Rochester won two of three doubles matches vs. NYU. Kantaerlis and Eric Hansen won, 8-6, at #1 doubles. Michael Burger and Jeff Titcombe won, 9-8 (3) at #3 doubles. Josh Bruce-Black and Eric Prince lost, 8-4, at #2.
