The men's tennis team, ranked No. 27 nationally, defeated visiting Vassar College, 6-1, at the Goergen Center courts on Saturday afternoon.
It was a good start to the spring season for the Yellowjackets. Rochester swept the three doubles events and took five of the six singles.
Erik Hansen, Thanos Kantarelis, Eric Prince, and Josh Bruce-Black were all winners in singles and doubles. Jeff Titcombe combined with Michael Burger to win, 8-3, at third doubles. Titcombe lost in a three-set tiebreaker at #6 singles.
Hansen beat Erik Skartvedt, 6-1, 6-1, at #1 singles and teammed with Kantarelis to beat Skartvedt and Jared Mayer, 8-2, at #1 doubles. Kantarelis beat Ashish Patil, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, at #2 singles.
Aaron Gettinger claimed Rochester's win at #5 singles. He beat Ludlow, 6-2,6-3.
