Netmen Improve to 4-0

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The men's tennis team is 4-0 on the young season after posting a 6-3 victory over Vassar College on Thursday afternoon.

Rochester won five of the six singles matches and one of the three doubles events to take the dual match. The Yellowjackets remain in town to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional Championships which begin on Friday. Vassar is hosting the event.

Jeff Titcombe was Rochester's only double winner. He paired with Aaron Gettinger to win, 8-6, at #2 doubles over Babbage and Pete Ludlow. Titcombe defeated Jeremy Rosen, 6-2, 6-3, at #4 singles. Gettinger was beaten, 6-2, 6-4, by Mike Mattelson at #3 singles.

Thanos Kantarelis led the way at #1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1 over Erik Skartvedt. Eric Hanson defeated Ashish Patil, 7-5, 6-4 at #2 singles. At #5, Mike Burger defeated Ludlow, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. Brian Bowman took sixth singles for Rochester, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7, over Jeremy Arthur.

At first doubles, Kantarelis and Hansen lost, 8-3, to Patil and Mattelson. At #3, Skartvedt and Rosen defeated Burger and Bowman, 8-5.
