Amherst College, the fifth-ranked team in Division III, posed a 9-0 victory over the University of Rochester in men's tennis mid-day Sunday.
The Lord Jeffs won all six singles matches in straight sets and took the three doubles events, 8-4, 8-2, 8-3.
Brian Bowman lost, 6-0, 6-4, to Austin Chafetz at #1 singles. Austin Armstrong lost, 6-0, 6-3, to Robbie Sorrell at #4 singles. That foursome also met in doubles with Chafetz and Sorrell winning, 8-4, at #1.
Brian Schmeer lost, 6-1, 6-2, to ALex Kim at #3 singles. Sean Mackman lost, 6-2, 6-1 to Alex Kaufman at #6. Mackman and Schmeer lost at #2 doubles, 8-2.
Bennett Peterson was defeated, 6-2, 6-2, by Sirainder Asotery at #2 singles. Alex magill lost to Tony Sheng, 6-2, 6-3, at #5 singles. Rochester's third doubles team was comprised of Dan Barbash and Matt Volkov. The Yellowjackets lost, 8-3.
