CANTON, NY – First-year Peter Huang captured the C flight singles competition as the University of Rochester men's tennis team completed play at the St. Lawrence Fall Classic on Sunday afternoon.
 
Huang was the lone main draw winner for the Yellowjackets on the weekend, going a perfect 4-0 in his Yellowjacket debut.  On Sunday, he topped RIT's Spencer Lowitt in the semifinals 6-4, 6-1 before winning the title over Jafar Sharipov in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
 
In the B flight singles consolation draw, two Yellowjackets met in the finals, with Yifan Shen topping teammate Leo Koblence 8-4 for that bracket title.
 
Other main draw action saw sophomore Tanmay Thakkar drop a 6-2, 6-2 decision in the B flight singles bracket to Walker Anderson of Hobart.  The B doubles competition saw Shen and teammate Damani Eubanks lose in a tight 9-8 semifinal contest to Anderson and Patrick Gray of Hobart.
 
UR will next play its lone dual match of the fall semester, travelling to Roberts Wesleyan College on September 20th.
