Day 2 Results

GENEVA, NY – First-year Krish Vennam was defeated in his first match on Saturday morning, falling in the third round of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships at Hobart College.
 
Vennam was beaten by RPI's Abraham Yohannes in straight sets 6-4 and 6-3 to be eliminated from the 64-player bracket.
 
Yohannes proved his win over Vennam, the 5/8 seeded player from UR, was no fluke, as he earned another win later in the afternoon to earn a trip to the semifinals.
 
The conclusion of the ITA tournament finishes up the brief fall season of competition for the Rochester men's team. It featured the ITA event and St. Lawrence Fall Classic, with Vennam capturing the SLU 'A' Flight singles title to open the season a few weeks ago. He finishes the fall with a 6-1 record in singles.
 
Rochester returns to competition in the winter months, starting its indoor schedule in mid-February against Vassar College.
