ITHACA, N.Y. –
Scott Sikorski posted one of the 10 best times in the 800 meters in Division III when he ran at the Bomber Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Ithaca College. He finished second in the 800 race, times in 1:54.21. That was an automatic qualifier for the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships (AARTFC) which will be held later this winter.
Gabe Lundy is also an AARTFC qualifier. He ran to a seventh place finish in the 200 meters. It was a dynamic race. The top eight finishers all qualified for the Atlantic Regionals. Lundy's time was :22.53. He was sixth in the 60 meter trials at :07.17, just missing a regional qualifying time. In the 60 meter finals, he finished in :07.18, fifth overall. Mitchell Lienert was fourth in the 400 meter run, timed in :51.42.
Swavely was second in the weight throw, seventh in the shot put.
Rochester had two finishers in the top five of the 3,000 meter run.
Vishal Yalamanchili was second (9:09.73) and
Konstantin Dits was fifth (9:19.02).
There were top eight performances in six field events, four of them had multiple top 8s. Three men placed in the triple jump:
Cole Goodman was third (13.43 m. – 44' 0.75"),
Kyle Lane was fifth (12.99 m. – 42' 7 ½"), and
Sam Lorenzetti was sixth (12.92 m. – 42' 7 ½"). Lane was eighth in the long jump, clearing 6.49 m. (21'3 ½").
Jarod Forer was eighth in the pole vault (4.25 m. – 13'11 1.4").
Alex Opsahl was sixth (1.79 m. – 5'10 ½") in the high jump and
Aeden Angelone tied for seventh place (1.74 m. – 5'8 ½").
Ryan Swavely placed second in the weight throw and seventh in the shot put. His distance in the weight throw was 16.00 m – 52'6").
Nolan Ragland was eighth in the weight throw (14.48 m.. – 47.6 ½").
James O'Neill put the shot 13.64 m. (44'9") to earn fourth place honors. Swavely came up with a 13.26 m. (43'6") in the competition.
