‘Jacket Men Post Solid Results at Nazareth Conference Cup

PITTSFORD, NY – The University of Rochester men's track and field team ended the competition at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup in third place among nine schools on Saturday afternoon at the Golisano Training Center.
 
UR's men finished with 115 team points on the day, ending third on the individual school leaderboard. In the conference standings, the SUNYAC took first place, as SUNY Cortland and SUNY Geneseo paired together and were the top-2 schools in the team standings.
 
Overall on the day, Rochester piled up 8 All-Atlantic Regional qualifying performances, 6 NCAA Division III top-50 marks, 3 event wins and 9 total top-3 results.
 
Rochester's strongest event of the day came in the 800 meters, with Sean Hendricks capturing first place in 1:56.02, an AAR performance and current #25 time in Division III. Teammates Skye Crocker (2:00.12) and Daniel Ford (2:00.13) finished third and fourth, respectively, ending just .01 seconds apart from one another.
 
The trio, along with Sam Yacob also made up Rochester's distance medley relay squad which finished in second place and has the #22 DMR time this season. UR's time was 11:04.23.
 
During the weight throw, the Yellowjackets had three scoring performances, led by Jordan Johnson's win at 17.15 meters. His mark qualified him for regionals and is a top-30 distance in Division III. The win was made even better because Johnson's winning mark happened on his sixth and final toss of the competition.

Bryant finished 6th in the 400 meters.

Joining Johnson in the top-8 in the weight throw were teammates Nolan Ragland in third and Zajans Crapo in eighth. Ragland qualified for regionals with a 15.95 meter mark and Crapo finished seventh at 14.70 meters.
 
UR's other event win came in the field, with Cole Goodman capturing first place in the triple jump after a 14.89 meter leap. That was a regional qualifier and current #2 distance in Division III, ranking second to himself. Reward Mulauzi ended seventh in the same event at 12.55 meters.
 
Also in the field, Ethan Beer ended as runner-up in the shot put, posting a regional qualifying mark of 14.42 meters. Dylan Rykert added a point to UR's scoring total at 13.15 meters, ranking eighth.
 
Manny Eribo ended fourth in the long jump with a 6.93 meter leap, ranking in the top-30 of Division III. In the high jump, Rochester athletes Aeden Angelone and Aadit Jain tied for fourth in the competition with a clearance of 1.82 meters.
 
Rochester's other AAR performances in the field came on a pair of third place track results.
 
Vishal Yalamanchili was third in the 5000 meters, crossing the finish in 15:06.20, a top-50 NCAA Division III time. P.J. London sprinted to a third place finish in the 60 meters, needing 7.05 seconds to break the tape. London added a fourth place result in the 200 meters in 22.69 seconds.
 
Other top results for the Yellowjackets included James Catania in the mile (4th, 4:24.46) and Evan Bryant in the 400 meters (6th, 52.95 seconds).
 
During the two sprint relays, Rochester's teams finished in fifth in 4x200 meter race and sixth in the 4x400 meter race. Enrico Ganz, Bryant, Nick Krein and Kyle Kesley made up the 4x200 meter team that finished in 1:36.26. In the 4x400 meter race, UR's team of Max Creamer, Christian Voloshen, London and Mark Magyar ended in 3:32.00.
 
Next weekend, Rochester heads back to Brockport, competing at the Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
