Box Score CANTON, NY – The University of Rochester men's tennis team completed action at the season-opening St. Lawrence University Fall Classic on Sunday afternoon, not seeing as much success as it had on day one.

First-year Alan Wang was the lone UR representative in singles play to win a match, with his victory coming over teammate Ethan Samora in the B flight singles semifinals. Wang won over Samora 8-5, but was bested in the championship match by 3rd-seeded Ivan Kisic of Ithaca.

In doubles, the Yellowjackets two remaining entries in the B flight earned match wins during the quarterfinals on Sunday, but were bested in the semifinal round.

Rahul Ravi and Josh Chu won 6-2 over the top-seeded Coby Feldman and Nicolas Gritz of Hamilton. In the semifinals, the high over the previous round win didn't carry over into another win, as the UR pair fell 6-4 against Joel Pho and Gabriel Escobar of RIT.

Also, in the B flight doubles bracket quarterfinals, Joseph Xia and Eitan Fay were 6-4 winners over the 2nd seed in the bracket, bouncing Tarang Malhotra and Achilleas Kousaridis of Hobart from the tournament. In the next round, Xia and Fay battled another seeded team, the 3rd-seeded pair of Charles Sternberg and Alejandro Fernandez of Hamilton. The Hamilton combo won by a 6-0 score against Rochester.

During A flight singles play, UR's two semifinalists, Kavin Shukla and Krish Vennam were upended in their first match on Sunday. Shukla fell 8-3 against top-seeded Connor Griff of Hamilton, while RIT's Alec Turcotte topped Vennam by an 8-2.

Andy Liu competed in the C flight singles semifinals for Rochester and was matched up against Hamilton's Feldman, where the UR first-year was defeated 8-1 by the bracket's #3 seed.

Chu, after a strong day one, was matched up against Gritz in his semifinal match in the D singles bracket. The Hamilton seeded player emerged with a victory, winning 8-2 to end Chu's run in the tournament.
