The senior goalie started all 20 games and allowed just 19 goals, leading the Liberty League in both save percentage and goals against average, while ranking fourth and 15th in NCAA Division III in those two categories, respectively.
Â
Mateer also earned First-Team All-Liberty League honors as UR's top field defender, starting all 20 contests and playing every minute for a total of 1,307 minutes played. In addition to helping Rochester's defense post the second-best goals against average in the conference, Mateer also scored a pair of game-winning goals, helping the 'Jackets beat both Skidmore and Vassar in penalty shootouts.
Â
Rochester was one of 15 schools to place two seniors on the team, doing so for the second time in three years.
Â
NFHCA Senior Team recognition celebrates seniors' competitive excellence, leadership, and lasting influence within their programs. Selections are based on nominations submitted by NFHCA member coaches and reviewed by committees composed entirely of NFHCA coach members. Seniors are eligible for selection only once during their collegiate careers.
