Kara Houston and
Abigal Mateer both earned NFHCA First-Team All-Region honors, marking the 13th-straight season the Yellowjackets have had multiple athletes earn All-Region accolades.
Â

Â
The senior appeared in and started all 20 games for Rochester, allowing just 19 goals on 256 shots faced in 1,255 minutes, compiling a 13-7 record and making 122 saves. Houston pitched eight shutouts, five solo and three combined, and ranked fourth in the country in save percentage and 12th in goals against average.
Â
Houston earns her second All-Region honor, having earned First-Team All-Region honors as well back in 2023.
Â
Mateer did not come off the field all season, playing all 1,307 minutes of URochester's 20 contests as the 'Jackets' top field defender. Manning the center back position, Mateer helped Rochester rank second in the conference and 12th in NCAA Division III with a 0.865 goals against average, posting eight shutouts, and holding its opponents to one goal or fewer in 14-of-20 games.
Â
The senior also scored a pair of game-winning goals in two of the Yellowjackets' penalty shootouts, notching the game-winner in shootout wins against Skidmore and Vassar in conference play.
Â
NFHCA All-Region is the first in a list of NFHCA postseason awards over the next few weeks. Next to be announced are the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on Dec. 11, followed by the NFHCA All-American teams on Dec. 16 and the NFHCA National Player of the Year on Dec. 18.
