Eight University of Rochester men's tennis student-athletes received Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete honors, while the entire team scored ITA All-Academic Team recognition, as announced by the ITA on Wednesday.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.00 scale for the current academic year. To garner ITA All-Academic Team recognition, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.00 scale.

Kavin Shukla, sophomore
Ethan Samora and first-years

Alan Wang and
Joseph Xia all were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Vennam becomes a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, while Malhotra, Rajamani and Shuka all earned recognition for the third-straight year, and Samora received Scholar-Athlete honors for the second-consecutive season.
As a team, the men's tennis program garnered ITA All-Academic team honors for the 12th-straight year under Head Coach
Matt Nielsen.
Overall, 1,115 Division III men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 135 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
