Three From Women’s XC Net USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Three Yellowjackets from the University of Rochester women's cross country program: seniors Alyssa Horng and Riley Joseph and junior Ella Blau, earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (UTFCCCA) All-Academic Honors, while the women's team as a whole received All-Academic Team recognition as announced by the USTFCCCA on Thursday.
 
To qualify for individual All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
 
Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers, to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team recognition.
 
Horng was the Yellowjackets' top finisher at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional, placing 33rd with a time of 23:01.0. Joseph joined Horng in the top-35, as both earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors, crossing the finish line in 35th place with a time of 23:04.5, while Blau came in right behind Joseph in 36th, clocking in at 23:05.6.
 
As a team, the Yellowjacket women tallied a 3.64 cumulative GPA to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team recognition for the ninth-consecutive year.
