CLEVELAND, OH – For the second straight day, the University of Rochester men's tennis team dropped a close match to an Ohio school, falling on Sunday to John Carroll University 6-3 at Cleveland State University.

The Yellowjackets fall to 7-8 on the season with the loss, while JCU moves to 5-6 with the win.

After doubles, UR trailed 2-1, with the 3rd doubles team of
Sam Leeman and
Mattias Hartveit earned the Yellowjacket win. The duo topped JCU's Gustavo Garcia and Adi Jha 8-3. At #1, John Carroll earned an 8-4 win over
Tanmay Thakkar and
Aaron Mevorach while it was 8-3 in favor of the Blue Streaks at #2 over Rochester's
Sahaj Somani and
Jun Yuminaga.

In singles, Rochester's Mevorach and Thakkar picked up wins at #4 and #5 respectively. Mevorach was a 6-1, 7-5 winner over Tyler Cole while Thakkar won 6-3, 6-2 over Alex Guthrie.

John Carroll would take the remaining matches though, earning the 6-3 triumph. At #1, Jad Abdul-Aal outlasted
Masaru Fujimaki 7-5, 5-7, 10-8 in the only three set match of the day.

Leeman dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision at #2 to Garcia while David Sinenese won 7-5, 6-2 over Yuminaga in the #3 spot. Rounding out the match, Scott Adsit topped Hartveit 6-2, 6-0.

Rochester returns home for its final three matches regular season matches of the season over the next two weeks. UR hosts Oneonta on Wednesday and St. Lawrence on Saturday before facing off against Hobart on April 13th.
