NORTH CHILI, NY – In its final tune up before the All-Atlantic Regional Championships next week, the University of Rochester men's track and field team earned eight All-Atlantic qualifying performances and added three top-50 NCAA Division III marks to its performance on Friday at the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawk Capstone Meet.

Rochester's Scott Sikorski improved upon his terrific time from last week in the 1500 meters, setting a new personal best with a time of 3:50.69, ranking #6 in NCAA Division III this season with that performance. His time placed him fifth in the race, but Sikorski crossed as the top Division III finisher.

Senior pole vaulter Terry Cook had another one of the top performances of the night for the Yellowjackets, clearing 4.85 meters in the event, finishing third and breaking his own school record set earlier this season. Cook's performance currently is ranked #12 in NCAA Division III this season, with only one week remaining before qualifiers for the national meet are selected.

UR's other top-50 NCAA Division III time came from Daniel Ford in the 800 meters. Ford finished fourth in the event and crossed the finish in 1:53.86, an AAR qualifier.

The Yellowjackets top individual track finisher on the day was Gabe Lundy in the 400 meters. Rochester's sophomore sprinter placed second with a time of 49.94 seconds, another regional qualifying time.

Lundy, along with Mitchell Lienert, Blaine Doyle and Jarod Forer also were regional qualifiers in the 4x400 meter relay, finishing seventh with a time of 3:26.26.

Rochester also had three All-Atlantic Regional marks set in the field events. Ryan Swavely was second in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.58 meters. Andres Garcia Coleto was third in the high jump with a height of 1.95 meters. James O'Neill finished eighth in the discus with a toss of 41.66 meters.

Additionally, O'Neill was sixth in the shot put (13.71 meters). Joining him with top-8 finishes were Joseph Varghese in both the javelin (6th, 39.62m) and high jump (7th, 1.85m) and Alex Opsahl in the javelin (7th, 38.66m).

Next weeks All-Atlantic Regional Championships take place on Wednesday and Thursday at St. John Fisher College, and that meet will serve as UR's last chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships on May 27-29.
