BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The men's track& field team at Rochester produced eight event champions and a school record-breaking performance in a six-team meet held at the College at Brockport on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellowjackets were supposed to compete on Friday afternoon, but the competition was moved to Saturday with a poor weather forecast for Friday. UR competed against Brockport, SUNY Fredonia, St. John Fisher, Sage Colleges, and Houghton.

Terry Cook broke his own record in the pole vault by two centimeters (3/4 inches). He cleared 4.70 meters, beating his own mark of 4.68 meters. That is currently ranked #20 in the pole vault among all Division III schools.
James Schmidt was second in the pole vault, clearing 4.10 m.

Rochester had two other event champions in field events.
Kyle Lane won the triple jump in 12.99 m. while
Joseph Varghese cleared 1.93 m. to win the high jump.
Alex Opsahl was fourth (1.80 m.). UR had two top-eight performances in the hammer throw and the long jump. In the hammer,
Ryan Swavely was fifth (49.14 m.) and
Nolan Ragland was sixth (46.58 m.).
Frederick Liu was fifth in the long jump (6.38 m.) and
Nick Donnell was close behind in sixth (6.25 m.).
Cook topped his own mark by two centimeters - or 0.75 inches.
Swavely was sixth in the shot put (13.82 m.).
James O'Neill placed second in the javelin (49.51 m.) and fourth in the discus (41.41 m.).

Rochester's running event champions were
Gabe Lundy in the 400 (:49.28),
Adam Smith in the 400 hurdles (:58.55),
Scott Sikorski in the 800 (1:55.56),
Daniel Ford in the 1,500 (4:09.67), and Nate Brunachini in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. He was timed in 10:17.05 and was the sole competitor in that event.

Fiver UR men finished among the top eight in the 1,500. Ford was the champion.
Carson Cummins was second (4:10.31),
Christian Voloshen fifth (4:13.23),
Zach Spergel was sixth (4:16.09), and
Max Hughes was eighth (4:17.74).

Two of the 1,500 runners competed on the 4x400 relay which finished second overall in 3:32.60 (Mitchell Lienert,
Blaine Doyle, Voloshen, and Hughes).
Alec Glazier ran a 2:02.60 to claim eighth place in the 800.
Jarod Forer was seventh (:52.56) to Lundy's championship in the 400.
Garrett Dietrich finished a strong second in the 400 hurdles behind Smith (:59.61). Dietrich was fifth in the 110 hurdles (:17.19).
Kuan-Ho Chen was second in the 100 meter dash (:11.42) and Liu was fifth (:12.00).
