NORTH CHILI, NY – The tremendous late season run for the women's track and field team at the University of Rochester continued on Friday night at the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawk Capstone Meet as the Yellowjackets set three new school records and had four NCAA top-50 performances.

In addition, UR accumulated two event wins and had twelve All-Atlantic Regional qualifiers in its last tune up for the regional competition, slated for next Wednesday and Thursday at St. John Fisher College.

Sophomore Madeline O'Connell was a part of two school records on the day. Individually, she broke her own mark in the pole vault, clearing 3.65 meters in a fifth place finish overall. Her previous school record was 3.60 meters from earlier this season. Friday's jump now ranks O'Connell #21 on the Division III performance list this season.

In addition to her pole vault record, O'Connell joined the rest of UR's 4x100 meter relay team in setting a new school record in that event for the third time this season. The team of Kate Isaac, Michaela Burrell, Kristin Hardy and O'Connell ran a time of 48.58 seconds in a first place finish, besting the mark the same team set at last weeks Liberty League West Championships. That quartet is now #28 in Division III with that time.

Isaac led off the record setting 4x100 meter relay.

UR's third school record on Friday was set by graduate student Jordan Hurlbut. Hurlbut finished as runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.90, ranking #6 in Division III currently. The record eclipses the old top time of 2:12.90 from 2003 set by Katherine O'Brien.

Teammates Eileen Bequette and Susan Bansbach also were regional qualifiers in the same race, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Bequette's time of 2:16.31 cracked the NCAA top-50, while Bansbach finished right behind in 2:16.44.

In the field events, Kari Leap was victorious in the discus, with a regional qualifying mark of 41.17 meters being the top distance. Teammate Gillian Reeder finished eighth with a toss of 33.80 meters.

Bequette also qualified for regionals in the javelin, earning a third place finish with a toss of 36.42 meters. In the triple jump, Alyssa Hoogs posted a jump of 11.24 meters and finished in third place, also an AAR mark. Joining the regional qualifying spree was Ashley Heffernan in the pole vault, as the UR first-year cleared 3.20 meters in finishing ninth.

UR's Burrell and Hardy also beat regional qualifying times in the 100 meters and 400 meters respectively. Burrell's time in the 100 meters was 12.34 seconds, finishing as runner-up, while Hardy clocked in at 58.58 seconds in the 400 meters, ending fourth in that race.

Rochester's final regional qualifier of the day was Kristen Lodato in the 1500 meters. She was the top Division III finisher in the race, placing eighth in 4:53.54.
