PRINCE ATHLETIC COMPLEX – Backed by eight event wins, the University of Rochester men's track and field team placed first in the UR-RIT-Ithaca Triangular on Saturday afternoon at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
Rochester accumulated 68 team points for the team title. 21st-ranked Ithaca College was second with 54 points, while RIT ended third in the evenly balanced competition with 42 points. The meet marked UR's first home competition since the 2019 season after the entire outdoor season was lost last year due to the pandemic.
The Yellowjackets had three double-winners on the day, with
Kyle Lane,
James O'Neill and
Gabe Lundy each taking home two titles. O'Neill had the best day, finishing first in both the shot put (13.47 meters) and javelin (46.32 meters) and was runner-up in the discus (39.61 meters).
Lane won both horizontal jumps for the second straight week, earning a mark of 6.88 meters in the long jump and 13.24 meters in the triple jump. His long jump distance currently ranks #15 in NCAA Division III at this point in the season.

His hurdles time was 54.49 seconds, a shade under his collegiate debut time last weekend and ranks him #6 in Division III currently. The 4x100 meter relay team finished in 44.82 seconds, starting off the meet strong with the win. Lundy was joined on that squad by
Steven Li,
Joshua Agyarko Jr. and
Frederick Liu.
