PITTSFORD, NY – The Rochester 4x800 meter relay team won a New York State Collegiate Track Conference championship on Friday afternoon on the first full day of events at the state meet.

The Yellowjackets are eighth of 11 schools who scored at least one point through one full day plus the decathlon held earlier in the meet. The decathalon was hosted by Nazareth College. The remainder of the meet is being conducted at St. John Fisher College. Everything wraps up on Saturday.
Crouse also won the indoor 400.
UR's 4x800 was comprised of Leo Orsini, Andrew Gutierrez, Wesley Clayton, and Christopher Dalke. They finished the race in 7:48.27.

The Yellowjackets also produced points in the javelin throw. Ryan Rosen was sixth with a throw of 48.29m (158'5"). In Friday's other field events, Sam Roth was 13th in the long jump (6.15m – 20'2.25"), Andrew Hirsh 15th (41.07m – 134'9") and Connor Hess 16th (40.95m – 134'4") in the hammer throw.

Rochester had men qualify in four Friday races. The finals will go Saturday. Brant Crouse has the top qualifying time in the 400m (:49.30) and the second-best time in the 200m (:22.00).

Nathaniel Kuhrt was fourth in the trials of the 400 intermediate hurdles (:55.99) and eighth in the 110 high hurdles (:15.80). R.J. Morrow qualified in the trials of the 110 hurdles as well. He was fifth (:15.53).

C.J. Ruff was 11th in the trials of the 100 meters (:11.42). In the finals of the 10,000 meters, Ankur Desai was 10th (33:05.76) and Dan Nolte was 14th (34:00.19).
