PITTSFORD, NY – The University of Rochester women's track and field team continued its strong indoor campaign on Friday evening, securing eight top-3 finishes and seven All-Atlantic Region qualifying performances at the Nazareth Conference Tune-Up hosted by Nazareth University at the Golisano Training Center.

Overall, the Yellowjackets piled up three event wins, one runner-up and four other third place results on the night.

UR's winners were Nora Chen in the 200 meters, Ellie Ponko in the 3000 meters and Cora Rose in the shot put. All three were AARTFC qualifiers, along with Alicia Lawson (3000 meters), Deziree Garrick (weight throw) and Madison Vargas (shot put). Rose was a double-qualifier, also hitting the standard in the weight throw event.

Rochester's top event of the evening was the 3000 meters, with the Yellowjackets ending with five of the top-7 finishers in the race. Ponko led the way with a personal-best time of 10:26.98, with Lawson's PR of 10:30.30 ranking second.

Sab Lin crossed the stripe in fourth, clocking in at 10:40.08, while Riley Joseph was fifth, posting a time of 10:46.18, good for a personal-best. Alyssa Horng ended seventh with a time of 10:56.29.

Chen's finish of 25.65 seconds was also a personal-best in the 200 meters, booking her a spot at regionals while also cracking the NCAA Division III top-50 times. Teammate Eva Ciuffetelli ended eighth with a season-best performance of 27.11 seconds.

In the throws, Rose's win came in the shot put, with the senior setting a new personal-best of 12.58 meters, less than one week after she set her previous lifetime best in the same throwing circle at Nazareth. Vargas ended sixth with a throw of 11.99 meters.

Garrick finished third in the weight throw with a mark of 16.19 meters, moving up to #29 on the Division III performance list this season, while Rose ended seventh with a PR and regional qualifier of 14.68 meters.

The 'Jacket runners in the 400 meters hit a slew of personal-best times in that event, with Raquella Casserino leading the way in third place. Her indoor PR is now at 1:00.60. Emily Dill ran the event for the first time ever and finished fifth in 1:01.71. Rita Sciortino (1:02.15) and Maya Hatch (1:02.39) both hit PR's as well, ending eighth and tenth, respectively.

Both of UR's relays ended the night in third place. During the 4x200 meter distance, the team of Tina Kyriacou, Ciuffetelli, Hatch and Peyton Classer posted a time of 1:48.06. The 4x400 meter relay squad of Julia Lantner, Sciortino, Isabella Doty and Dill crossed the finish in 4:12.82.

Elsewhere in the field, Ashleigh Barrett leapt 5.25 meters in the long jump, placing fifth, while Abby Kopeck ended ninth in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.01 meters. Nora Dreslin was UR's top high jumper on the day, finishing 10th (1.43m).
