PRINCE ATHLETIC COMPLEX –
Cole Goodman, who competed at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in March, broke a 53-year-old school record during the University of Rochester Spring Classic track and field meet at Edwin Fauver Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Goodman cleared 7.15 m. – 23' 5 ½". He finished second in the event. Goodman's jump broke the existing Rochester record of 23'4" set by Atlas Evans in 1969.
Kyle Lane (fifth at 6.77 m.) and
Frederick Liu (sixth at 6.65 m.) joined him among top eight performers in the event. Goodman, Lane, and
Sam Lorenzetti were in the top four of the triple jump. Goodman won it (14.21 m.), Lorenzetti was third (13.45 m.) and Lane was fourth (13.08 m.).

Rochester had multiple placements among the seven field events. Four men placed in the top eight in the javelin throw:
Jordan Johnson (third, 50.11 m.),
Aidan Kropiwnicki (fourth, 47.48 m.),
Zajans Crapo (fifth, 45.22 m.), and
Joe Bumpus (seventh, 40.14 m.).

James O'Neill placed in three throwing events. He was fifth in the discus (39.48 m.), seventh in the shot put (12.93 m.), and eighth in the hammer throw (42.90 m.).
Nolan Ragland was fourth in the hammer (46.95 m.) with
Ryan Swavely seventh (43.36 m.).
Kevin Fobare was eighth in the shot put (12.49 m.).

Brennan Hong won the pole vault (4.28 m.) with
Jarod Forer fourth (4.13 m.). Forer was UR's top finisher in the 400 meters (:52.32).
Lucas Thiele was fourth (:53.11), and
Aeden Angelone was seventh (:53.74).

Mitch Lienert won two events,
Gabe Lundy captured one. Lundy ran on two winning relays (one with Lienert). Lundy won the 400 hurdles (:54.25) in an All-Atlantic Region qualifying time. It is the #6 time in Division III currently.
Adam Smith was third (:58.87) and
Gabe Thyne was fourth (:58.99). Lienert and Lundy ran the first two legs of the winning 4x100 relay (:42.37) with
P.J. London and
Manny Eribo. That foursome came within one one-hundredth of a second of tying the existing 4x100 relay mark set in 2013.

Both sprint races went to Lienert. He was first in the 100 (:11.07) with Eribo third (:11.35). He also won the 200 meters in :22.46.

The closest race to determine final placing came in the 110 meter hurdles.
Alex Opsahl was a clear runnerup in :16.74 and
Adam Smith finished eighth in :17.21.
Cole Siewert nabbed fourth place honors by five one-thousandths of a second. He ran a :16.882 and his opponent ran a :16.887. Officially, it is listed as a :16.89.

UR placed 4-5-6 in the 1,500 meter run.
Scott Sikorski was fourth (3:57.00),
James Catania was fifth (4:02.52), and
Max Hughes (4:05.09) was sixth. Sikorski's time is an All-Atlantic Region qualifier.

Three runners were top eight in the 5,000 meter run.
Zach Spergel was second (15:17.67),
Vishal Yalamanchili was fifth (15:37.90), and
Griffin Weiner placed eighth (15:41.72).
